Picture this: you’re sitting cosily on your sofa after a nice big supper on Christmas Eve, and trying to set the Christmas mood with a film. But the only problem is that you can’t find a suitable movie to watch. Well, here are my picks for the top 5 movies to give you that Christmas feeling!

5. How The Grinch Stole Christmas

This is a great movie for the whole family, based on the book by Dr. Seuss. It’s about how the Grinch tries to steal the Christmas spirit from the townsfolk of Whoville, causing them to realise the true value of Christmas.

4. The Muppet Christmas Carol

An interpretation of the classic christmas novel by Charles Dickens, this film tells the tale of Scrooge in a way which appeals to all ages. A brilliant movie, made even better with the Muppets adding their unique spin on the story.

3. Elf

Will Ferrell did an amazing job as“Buddy”, the human raised by elves. This movie is sweet and very funny and it's definitely going to keep you glued to the TV screen for one and a half hours!

2. Home Alone

This has to be my favourite movie of all time! Macaulay Culkin is perfect as the lead role, Kevin, who is left behind when his family goes to France. He enjoys being on his own until a couple of thieves choose his house as their next target...

1. It's a Wonderful Life

If you have ever seen this, then you know that it is only a ‘wonderful life’ for the last 10 minutes and for the rest of the runtime it is a pretty bad life. However, this film is funny, warm and a great classic to watch this season, and is sure to lift your spirits by the time it finishes.
