After the heartbreaking knockout of our entire Year 12 German class at the intense semi final of the Goethe Institut’s national debating competition, we were invited to watch the final debate to watch the event come to a close.
The day, back in March, took place at the beautiful Goethe Institut London office in South Kensington. We were there to watch Farnborough Sixth Form College go against Queen Elizabeth’s (QE) Boys School in an entertaining and passionate debate over the future of the medical sector, in German of course. The QE team, who beat us in the semifinals I might add, ultimately prevailed and won the 2022 competition. Along with meeting the QE Team again, we got to mingle with German students from around the country who also took part in this year’s debates
Overall, the day was great fun for all involved! Thank you to the Languages department and the visits office for organising this visit and to the amazing Goethe Institut, giving us a great competition which gave us an amazing opportunity to further our German skills.
